Frequently asked questions
What does a product designer actually do?
I work out what your customers need, then design the website, app or system that gives it to them. That means research, user interviews (remote or in person), journey maps and wireframes, then the final design and a prototype people can try.
Do you build the website or app too?
I don’t write the final code. Where it helps, I build working prototypes with AI coding tools, so you can click through an idea and test it with real people before any development starts. Your developers then build the finished product, and I hand over the screens, components and notes they need, and stay involved through testing to make sure it comes out as designed.
Who do you work with?
Businesses of every size, from individuals and small businesses to large organisations with their own product and engineering teams. I can join your existing team or work as your sole consultant.
Do you only work in Sydney?
I’m based in Greater Western Sydney, and I’m happy to work remotely, anywhere in Australia or abroad.

Yes. I can help you shape a business idea through discovery research and stakeholder interviews, so you know what to build, and in what order, before any money goes into development.
Can you check whether our product is accessible?
Yes. An accessibility audit reviews your product against WCAG 2.2 and usability heuristics, includes testing with a diverse group of people, and ends with a prioritised list of fixes your team can work through.
Why work with an independent designer instead of an agency?
You get unbiased analysis, your needs come first and move faster than they would through an agency, and the rate is more affordable.
Do you take on smaller creative projects?
Yes. Alongside product design, I offer a select range of creative services across web, design, photography and illustration.
How much does a project cost?
Every project is different, so I scope each one to its real size. Tell me about yours, and I’ll send you a clear quote before any work starts.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the scope. A focused audit is much quicker than a full product redesign. I’ll give you a timeline with your quote.
