Privacy Policy
How I collect, use and protect your personal information when you visit eleonorcollins.com or get in touch.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains how Eleonor Collins (ABN 65 119 197 977) (“I”, “me” or “my”) handles personal information collected through eleonorcollins.com (the “site”) and in any communication with me about my services. I handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
By using the site or contacting me, you agree to your information being handled as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the site's forms.
What I collect
Information you give me. When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email address, subject and message, plus your phone number if you choose to add it. You also tick a box to confirm you've read this policy. I use these details for one purpose: to reply to your enquiry. If you email me or message me on WhatsApp, I receive whatever you choose to send.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the site's hosting keeps standard technical logs, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure. To protect the contact form from spam, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automated activity.
The site has no shop, no user accounts and no payments, so I don't collect billing, payment or login details. You can browse the whole site without giving me any personal information.
How I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project
- To provide my services, if we go on to work together
- To keep the site secure and protect it from spam and misuse
- To meet my legal and business record-keeping obligations
I don't send marketing emails or newsletters, and I never sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses the essential cookies and browser storage it needs to work, for example to remember your cookie choice. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies.
If you select Accept, the site loads Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and show me how people use the site: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country or city, not an exact location), what device and browser they use, and how they found the site. I use this only to understand and improve the site. I don't use it for advertising, and I can't identify you from it. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, including in the United States.
If you select Reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics doesn't load and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
Third-party services
A few trusted services help run the site. Each handles information under its own privacy policy:
- Vercel, which hosts the site and keeps its technical logs, in the United States
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects the contact form from spam
- An email delivery service, which sends contact form messages to my inbox
- Gmail (Google), where I receive and keep enquiries, whether they come through the form or by email
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies (see Cookies and analytics above)
- Google Maps, embedded on the Contact page, and YouTube, for one video in my work. The YouTube player only loads when you press play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
- Instagram, for the gallery on the About page. The images are fetched by this site and served from its own domain, so viewing them sends nothing to Instagram; selecting a post opens Instagram, under its own privacy policy.
Some of these providers, including Vercel and Google, store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. I choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable with Australian law.
I may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect my rights or the safety of others.
Links to other websites
The site links to other websites, such as LinkedIn, client sites and share buttons on blog articles. I'm not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies when you visit them.
Security and retention
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including a secure (HTTPS) connection and spam protection on the contact form. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information, such as health or financial details, through the contact form.
Enquiries are kept in my email inbox. I keep them only as long as I need them to respond to you, provide my services, or meet legal obligations, then delete them. The website itself doesn't keep a copy of your message.
Children
The site isn't intended for children, and I don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent me their details, contact me and I'll delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I'll respond within 30 days, and may need to confirm your identity first.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how I've handled your information, please contact me first and I'll do my best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (opens in a new tab).
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time, for example if the site changes or the law does. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
